Radical Neurodivergent Affirming Therapy for Late Diagnosed & Undiagnosed Autistic & ADHDer’s Adults

What does it mean to be Neurodivergent exactly mean?

Neurodivergent is a term used to describe individuals whose neurological development and functioning differ from what is considered typical or "neurotypical." This umbrella term encompasses a wide range of neurological variations, including but not limited to autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, dyspraxia, Tourette syndrome, and other neurodevelopmental conditions.

Neurodivergent individuals may experience differences in cognitive processes, sensory perceptions, social interactions, communication styles, and emotional regulation compared to “neurotypical” individuals. It's important to recognize that neurodivergence is not inherently good or bad; rather, it reflects the natural diversity of human brains and minds. Which pretty cool if you ask me.

What does Neurodivergent-affirming therapy look like?

Neurodivergent affirming therapy is a therapeutic approach that recognizes and celebrates the unique ways in which individuals with neurodivergent conditions experience the world. It aims to provide a supportive and validating environment for neurodivergent individuals, acknowledging their strengths, challenges, and diverse experiences. We don’t work to make appear more “neurotypical” instead, we recognize, honor, and celebrate your experiences. You were never meant to exist in a box, and your therapy should not either.
